Yakima, WA – The New York Produce Show, hosted by Produce Business and Eastern Produce Council, just took place December 1st through the 3rd at the Hilton New York Midtown & Jacob Javits Center. This was Borton Fruit’s third year exhibiting at this show. Denny Annen, our President of Sales & Marketing, and Jay Dyer, our Director of Sales & Marketing attended this year. “This show continues to grow each year, exceeding the previous year’s attendance. This year was unbelievable, the feeling you have when you come to the New York Show is really a global experience in its own way” stated Jay Dyer.
This year’s agenda included a ray of opportunities such as educational seminars, retail panels, micro sessions, a think smart center, foundation excellence, future leaders in produce by Cornell Produce Industry, and a global symposium on produce imports/exports and distribution into other markets. The show closed with retail tours in various markets including Hunts Point and the Philadelphia produce markets.
“This show gives us the opportunity to showcase our products in a global setting, creating endless opportunities. This year we showcased all of our premium tray pack varietals and 2lb and 3lb soft net bags, along with highlighting our Rockit® and Koru® Apple varieties. The feedback was tremendous! The show provides an atmosphere for quality time with current and potential customers. The overall traffic was very brisk throughout the show. This venue continues to be promising and we look forward to attending next year” stated Jay Dyer.
