It's National Women's Health Week!

On May 9th, Barack Obama released his presidential proclamation, proclaiming May 11th through May 17th 2014 as National Women’s Health Week.  “I encourage all Americans to celebrate the progress we have made in protecting women’s health and to promote awareness, prevention, and educational activities that improve the health of all women” States Barack Obama.

For great resources, check out Womenshealth.gov.  There is a lot to learn when it comes to being healthy, and this website focuses on empowering women to make their health a priority as well as serves as a model for women to understand what it means to be “well” overall.

Please see images of the National Women’s Health Week Infographics below, focusing on the key points for being well, specifically the Eat Healthy one (all of these original forms can also be found on the Womens Health link above).  It’s no surprise that eating a diet rich in fruits and veggies is one of the key ways to reaching overall health.    Take a look at the plethora of reasons you should increase consumption, ways to incorporate more fruits & veggies in your diet, healthy cooking tips, recipes and much more from the Produce for Better Health Foundation at the following link; http://www.fruitsandveggiesmorematters.org/myplate-and-what-is-a-serving-of-fruits-and-vegetables.
