In an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer, Borton and Sons, Inc. will be packing all of our soft net bags in our Pink Ribbon Film for the entire month of October.  This will be our second year packing in our Pink Ribbon Film and we plan to continue supporting this cause for years to come.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which occurs in October, is an awareness and support program developed by several organizations that take part in the fight against breast cancer.  The program aims to promote breast cancer awareness, inform people about the cancer and provide people with easier access to screenings.  Its website functions as a year-round clearinghouse for patients and survivors, and the families, friends and caregivers whose lives are touched by the disease.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month was originally established by AstraZeneca Health Care Foundation.  National nonprofit organizations, medical associations and the government all take part in the event.  In the 1980s, former first lady Betty Ford and her daughter Susan initiated public dialogue on breast cancer.  This opened the eyes of many national community members to the need for public outreach, including American Cancer Society, the National Medical Association, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Cancer Institute.

This support program continues to grow immensely each year.  The message is serious and raising awareness for early detection and prevention is extremely important.  Borton & Sons, Inc. is excited about utilizing this new film to support the program while providing healthy products inside them.  It can’t get much better than that!
