Each year a new study emerges with more facts about how beneficial apples are to the human body. It’s no surprise that last year Medical News Today put out a top ten foods list considered to be the most healthy, ranking apples at number 1 (see article here:  The great thing about apples is they are available all year long, and with over 7500 different known varieties, you have plenty to try and experiment with!

Here are some really quick and easy appetizer recipes to help you include Apples in your Christmas Day:

Form an Apple Nacho Bar: The recipe below includes caramel, granola, and mini chocolate chips as toppings but feel free to add more of your family’s favorites to the list.  You can pre-make these to set out or keep all toppings in separate containers and allow people to make their own to their liking.  Some ideas to add in would be peanut butter (either to replace the caramel, or include both), holiday themed M&M’s, marshmallows, pecans, walnuts, almonds, coconut, etc.  Get creative and as healthy as you want with this!  To theme them toward Christmas, use a Red apple variety such as Gala, Fuji or whatever your favorite one is, along with green Granny Smith apples!
