Yakima, WA – Jeremy Leavitt and Armando Haro from Borton Fruit attended the Washington State Tree Fruit Association’s annual environmental monitoring workshop in Yakima on November 1st. The workshop brought industry professionals, scientists and vendors together in a unique setting.
Armando Haro, our Sanitation Supervisor, demonstrated how Borton Fruit uses the Sample 6, Rapid in-shift pathogen detection system and software to monitor and record our Environmental Swabbing Program and how he uses the visual aids to communicate with his sanitation team. Jeremy Leavitt, our Food Safety & Compliance Director, stated that, “The Sample 6 software has given us powerful visual reporting and communication tools that help us more closely monitor and rapidly communicate results and actions in our plants. Our team loves the visual, color coded floorplans and pictures that we use within the software and I love the email updates and re-mediations that I get on my phone.”
Borton Fruit has been using the Sample 6 software since February of this year and has seen the benefits since utilizing this system. Borton Fruit will continue to implement systems like this to stay in front if this industry while making sure we are providing our customers with the safest fruit possible.
