Snacking to Support Schools, One Bite at a Time

Grab your apples for another season of snacking! This fall, Apples for Education: Buy an Apple, Help a Student is back for its second year to grow healthy bodies and minds. Borton Fruit is joining the U.S. apple industry and your favorite apple-pairing brand Marzetti to provide donations to student projects nationwide each time you snack on apples.

How can you help a student?

Now through Nov. 12, visit to check out the 17 student causes and classroom projects from across the country that are in need of funds to improve students’ learning environments and ensure success in the future.

Causes range from new school gardens and innovative reading programs to updated technology, additional science equipment and enhanced resources for teachers. To support your cause, follow these four simple steps:

  1. Snack: Grab any apple product you like (apple juice, applesauce – or simply an apple!) and/or Marzetti products. (Bonus: Combine apples with our partner’s delicious ingredients!)
  2. Snap: Take a picture of your snack.
  3. Tag: Find a school cause at Tag your photo with the project’s unique hashtag and #Apples4Ed.
  4. Share: Vote for your fave school cause by uploading your photo to your (public) Instagram or Twitter account.

In December, USApple will announce the amount of funding each of the 17 school causes will be awarded. The top three school causes with the most votes will receive the highest amount of funding.

Vote Often and Enter for a Chance to Win!

You can vote as much as you want - each pic you upload counts as a vote. (See voting rules.)

When you vote, you automatically enter for a chance to win weekly prizes from U.S. apple members and Marzetti, including $100 gift cards - PLUS have $100 in additional funds donated directly to your selected project.

And while you’re visiting Apples4Ed…
