Yakima, WA – Borton Fruit and Chelan Fresh Marketing have been working together for the past couple years in developing a Marketing Program for the ROCKIT™ apple here in the U.S. This past week at the United Fresh show in Chicago, Borton & Chelan shared a booth centered around this innovative apple variety and received very positive feedback from multiple attendees at the show.
This three day event was held in Chicago at the McCormick Convention Center June 20th through the 22nd. “This year’s United Fresh show focus was all about innovation, being able to showcase the most creative new produce items and fresh food trends in the industry. The ROCKIT™ fit in perfectly and raised a lot of excitement,” stated Jay.
There was a wide range of attendees this year consisting of distributors, equipment companies, growers, packaging companies, retailers, new and innovative technology companies as well as wholesalers which created unlimited opportunities. “Show traffic was very brisk with a lot of good interactions with both current and potential customers. The ROCKIT™ fits quite a few customer profiles with interest coming from food service and retail. The range of excitement was somewhat off the scale due to the unique flavor profile and innovative packaging that ultimately will drive unlimited sales for everyone. The interest in the ROCKIT™ was overwhelming at the show. Both current and potential customers can’t wait until this fall when we should have fuller production on the ROCKIT™ which will create even more excitement with high demand,” Jay continued.
