Southern Exposure 2016 Reaches Record Attendance

Yakima, WA – Borton Fruit just returned from another successful Southern Exposure Food Show, hosted by the Southeast Produce Council. Directors of Marketing, Darrin Carpenter and Jay Dyer, attended on behalf of Borton Fruit. The show was at a new venue this year, the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, FL taking place March 3rd through the 5th.  This was the 13th year for Southern Exposure and Borton Fruit’s 11th year attending.

According to articles by The Produce News and The Packer, the show had record attendance this year. There were over 2,400 registrants as well as record attendance at the gala opening event.  All of the seminars had great turnouts as well, making the overall show very successful.  “Traffic was busy the entire show, there were times we saw lines forming down the aisles due to them being so full” stated Darrin Carpenter.  “There were a great number of retailers and wholesalers walking the show floor.  The relaxed setting for this show always provides a great atmosphere for opportunity discussions with both current customers and potential new customers” he went onto say.

This year, Borton Fruit’s booth showcased all of our currently available Apple and Pear varieties, from premium bulk displays to multiple Soft Net bag options. We also had some Rockit™ Apples there which always seem to grab people’s attention and peak interest.

“This has been a great show for us every year” Darrin said. Borton Fruit looks forward to attending next year as the show will be at another new venue, Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL.
