Yakima, WA – Borton Fruit is proud to announce our Sanitation Supervisor, Armando Haro, has been awarded with WSU’s First Annual Line Worker Award at their 36th Annual Food Safety and Sanitation gathering this week at the Sheraton Airport Hotel in Portland. This annual award recognizes an employee for exceptional service and commitment to food safety and sanitation within their company. Armando has shown exemplary commitment to food safety and goes above and beyond the required job duties to build a food safety culture, and we are very thankful he was able to receive the first award in this category.
Armando is the leader of our sanitation crew. We have tried very hard at Borton Fruit to be a leader in innovation, efficiency and safety when it comes to our sanitation programs. We leave out no detail and spare no expense when it comes to our sanitation program and our training of our employee's. Armando has been a crucial part of these changes for the last three years. He has helped form a collaborative bond within our industry by generously donating his time and expertise to many workshops and training events.
“Armando is a dependable, hardworking and loyal employee who gives his best for Borton Fruit every day. The WSU Sanitation Inaugural Line Worker Award is a great tool for us as an industry. It is a great way for us to give back to the people who are in the trenches, keeping our facilities, employee’s and our food safe every day. This inaugural award could not be given to a more deserving young man than Armando Haro”, stated our Food Safety Director Jeremy Leavitt.
Great work Armando! Borton Fruit is thankful you are a part of our industry leading food safety team.
